Nick Chubb said last month that he expects to take the field when Georgia opens the season Sept. 3 against North Carolina. But stuff like that holds more weight coming from a coach, and Georgia offensive coordinator Jim Chaney echoes the junior running back's confidence.

"He's practicing hard like everybody else is, and I see Nick Chubb being the player that he's been before, and will continue to do so," Chaney told Dawg Nation. "I mean he's a downhill running son of a gun, so let's hand him the ball and see what he can get done."

Chubb suffered a torn PCL against Tennessee last season, ending his campaign and Heisman Trophy bid after a promising start. But both players and coaches have been shocked by his relatively speedy recovery.
"He's out there on the field every day working to get himself in shape." Chaney continued. "And I feel comfortable we're on track with where we're at with the medical stuff."
