Georgia is playing its annual rivalry game with Georgia Tech this week and it looks like the Bulldogs might have made quite the strategic hire for the game. The Dawgs have hired former Notre Dame defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder who has already seen the triple option last year against Georgia Tech. VanGorder's title is defensive analyst, much like Steve Sarkisian's role for Alabama (except he's offensive).

Sources told DawgNation that VanGorder began assisting Kirby Smart and Georgia's defensive staff with gameplan adjustments during the week of the Auburn game. VanGorder actually worked under Mark Richt from 2001 to 2004 in Athens and was fired in September of this year from Notre Dame after Duke beat the Irish 38-35.
