Georgia is two weeks into the season and Kirby Smart still refuses to name a permanent starter

When will he make up his mind?

Georgia fans have wanted coach Kirby Smart to name freshman phenom Jacob Eason the starting quarterback ever since he stepped foot on campus. He was a starter in Week 2 against Nicholls State who almost won the game, but the Dawgs prevailed 26-24 thanks to two quick touchdowns after Nicholls State took a lead in the third quarter.

Eason did just alright with 204 yards and a touchdown on a meager 11-of-20 passing with an interception. There were also times he was pulled in favor of Greyson Lambert in two-minute drill situations. It sends mixed messages to your quarterbacks and makes it hard to earn any trust or learn from mistakes when the coach doesn't let you make any.

Smart still won't name a permanent starter and that could hurt Georgia all season if the offensive line and receivers don't know who they're protecting or getting the ball from, respectively.

From ESPN SEC beat writer Edward Aschoff:

Georgia coach Kirby Smart says the QB competition between Jacob Eason and Greyson Lambert will continue this week leading up to Saturday's Missouri game. "It'll be based on how practice goes. That'll work itself out over the course of the week." Smart said both will continue to share reps this week. As far as Eason's first start (204 yards, TD, INT) "Jacob made some mistakes but he also made some good plays."

This better not go on all season or the Georgia faithful might be calling for Smart's head much sooner than anticipated.
