Georgia Tech designs "state championship" rings celebrating its win over Georgia

For the second time in 14 years, Georgia Tech beat Georgia in football. The Yellow Jackets were a really good team in 2014, so it wasn't really a bad loss — the only part that was bad was how the Bulldogs gave up that game.

Georgia Tech finished the season with a crushing defeat over Mississippi State in the Orange Bowl and finished No. 8 in the final AP poll. Despite all of the accomplishments Tech had last season, maybe none of them were as important as beating their rival. To commemorate the victory, the Jackets designed "state championship" rings.

Tech's clean, old-fashioned hate displayed in the rings is a knock off of Georgia's 'We Run This State' slogan, says a current Yellow Jacket.

"We just copied Georgia," the Yellow Jackets coach said of the ring design, according to the Athens Banner-Herald. "They're the guys who started 'We Run This State.' We just kind of played off of that."

I guess this is what happens when you only win two matchups since 2001.
