Kirby Smart makes official announcement on Nick Chubb's season-opening status

Last season Chubb had 747 yards on 92 carries.

Kirby Smart previously hinted at Nick Chubb being ready to go for Georgia's season-opener against, but the Bulldogs head coach announced on Monday that Chubb will be a full-go with seemingly no restrictions.

With Jacob Eason anticipated to be the starter against North Carolina, Chubb's health will go a long way in the outlook of the offensive unit.

Sidelined since last October after suffering a torn PCL, Chubb's return will be a welcome one for the Bulldogs. Last season Chubb had 747 yards on 92 carries; an average of over 8 yards per carry.

Chubb's backup in Sony Michel still has not been cleared to play after breaking his forearm in an ATV accident over July 4 weekend. Michel ran for over 1,100 yards last season as the backup and then primary starter late in the season.
