Kirby Smart refuses to name starter for next week despite strong showing from Eason

Really, coach?

Georgia got a huge win over North Carolina on Saturday to start the season and many thought it meant it was the start of the Jacob Eason era too. He threw for 131 yards on 8-of-12 passing and tossed a touchdown against Greyson Lambert's 5-of-8 passing for 54 yards and no touchdowns.

That might normally be enough for any other coach to give the quarterback job to one man —- Eason in this case —- but Kirby Smart is not going to make his decision at least for another week. Georgia's QB plan will be "very similar" to what it was last week according to Smart, who spoke to reporters at media day on Monday.

Lambert took three sacks in the game against the Tar Heels and one of them looked like his fault for holding the ball too long while Eason had some issues getting out of the huddle quickly as Smart had to burn a timeout to avoid a delay of game penalty. Georgia fans will be waiting with bated breath to see who emerges from this battle as the victor and QB the rest of the season.
