Two Georgia football players were arrested following the Bulldogs' win over Auburn in the SEC title game, and it's still unclear what their status will be for the Rose Bowl.

Starting linebacker Natrez Patrick was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession, wide receiver Jayson Stanley was arrested for DUI. Head coach Kirby Smart said both are still a part of the team and both have been practicing, but he didn't clarify what the status will be for either player for the Rose Bowl against Oklahoma.
Natrez Patrick and Jayson Stanley are part of the UGA team still, but Kirby Smart did not say their status for the Rose Bowl. He said Patrick's pending legal matter in Athens-Clarke County will be handled when that is resolved.

Stanley claimed the marijuana was his, but Patrick still failed a drug test days after the arrest. But they can practice, and Smart probably won't announce their status until closer to the game on Jan. 1.
KIRBY: Under UGAAA polices both of those guys remain eligible to remain on the team and practice. We are following our policies without any exception.

To be clear - we don't know the status of Patrick and Stanley for the Rose Bowl game and beyond.

Patrick's absence would not be ideal for the Georgia defense. The Bulldogs are tasked with slowing down Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield and the Oklahoma offense, and they will need all hands on deck to advance to the championship game.
The Bulldogs have one of the best defenses in the country, and the linebacker corps is as good as any in college football. If Patrick is out, there will be more pressure on Roquan Smith and Lorenzo Carter to stop the Sooners.
