Justin Mascoll is a monster talent at the defensive end position in the 2018 class and he may be opening a window into his recruiting process by adding another big-time contender. The No. 3 defensive end nationally has been widely linked to schools like Florida State, Clemson and his in-state power in Georgia but, over the weekend, Mascoll visited Alabama and shared the following with Chris Kirschner of SEC Country.
"I have a lot of interest in Alabama. They are definitely one of my top schools. I just like it there. I like how they keep their players accountable day in and day out."
It is never a surprise to see a top-100 recruit displaying interest in the Alabama Crimson Tide but this also signifies a big change for the 6'4, 237-pound defensive end. In fact, he even fired away on Twitter during the weekend.
Mascoll, who hails from South Gwinnett High School (Ga.), ranks as the No. 10 overall player from the talent-rich state of Georgia and many believe that the Bulldogs are in the lead for his services. Still, Nick Saban and company are never one to be counted out when it comes to a recruiting battle and this type of glowing review could be important moving forward.
Justin Mascoll is an intriguing prospect on a number of levels and his recruiting process seems to be heating up in a big way.
