A big-time quarterback prospect for the class of 2018 is officially off the market. On Monday, three-star quarterback Cade Fortin (6-foot-2, 207 pounds, Suwanee, Ga.) announced that he would be verbally committing to Texas a&M and Kevin Sumlin, despite holding offers from a number of big-time schools. Fortin held an offer from Louisville, North Carolina and 10 other D-1 programs.
"As a runner, the newest member of the Aggie quarterback fraternity isn't Johnny Manziel or even Trevor Knight," Billy Liucci of TexAgs writes. "But he's more than athletic and talented enough to move the chains and keep defenses honest in both the designed QB-run game and when forced to improvise. To be honest, Ryan Tannehill wouldn't be a bad comparison here."
The Georgia product is the No. 14 ranked pro-style QB for the class of 2018. Fortin's commitment marks the third for Sumlin's 2018 class.
