Georgia defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter was arrested two weeks ago for driving under the influence after police found him asleep at the wheel. Following the arrest, head coach Kirby Smart stated at SEC Media Days that Ledbetter would undergo counseling and discipline, but would not face a suspension. According to ESPN's Chris Low, Ledbetter is now expected to face at least two games, and it could be more than that.
The arrest report for Ledbetter states that it allegedly took police a half an hour to wake Ledbetter up — even attempting to wake him up by turning on their sirens.
After Ledbetter was awakened, he was informed that he had been asleep for a while, Dawg Nation reports. Officers asked if he had been drinking, and he replied, "Yes sir, I'm at home." Ledbetter later said he had some beers downtown. A field sobriety test was then conducted.
