Three-star defensive lineman changes mind on Gamecocks, decides on UGA

Bulldogs land top recruit after he decides against South Carolina

Three-star DL Devonte Wyatt de-committed from South Carolina Monday and opted to join Georgia's class of 2017 instead.

According to 247Sports, the 6-4, 300 pounder, out of Towers High School in Decatur, Ga., originally committed to the Gamecocks back in June, but had an apparent change of heart after attending a UGA camp in July and officially visiting South Carolina a week later.

"Yes he de-committed from South Carolina and committed to Georgia," said Towers head coach Brian Montgomery.

Wyatt reportedly impressed the Bulldogs coaching staff with his size and athleticism, and will fill a need along the defensive line for 2017.
