What we need to see from Georgia in its game against Troy

Coming off a heart-breaking loss against South Carolina, Georgia is going to come out tomorrow and try and make a statement. That's unfortunate for the Troy Trojans. Here are three things we need to see from the Bulldogs:

Georgia needs to completely shut down Troy. The Bulldogs gave up 447 yards of total offense to the Gamecocks, and that's just unacceptable for any team. Even though Troy is 0-3, the Trojans still have a high-powered offense. The Dawgs looked completely lost in the secondary this past Saturday, so tomorrow, Georgia needs to be dominant. Don't allow Troy to hang around. Don't give them easy completions. Stop them on third downs and end drives. The Trojans are racking up 241 yards through the air. This game needs to be taken seriously and needs to be used as practice for the Tennessee game because the Volunteers have some of the best receivers in the nation.

Touchdowns in the redzone. Georgia is currently 104th in the nation in redzone scoring. The Dawgs have been inside the 20-yard-line 11 times this season, but only have five touchdowns to show for it. This game should be an opportunity for Georgia to boost its confidence against a Troy defense that is giving up 40 points per game. The Bulldogs gave up scoring opportunities against the Gamecocks in the redzone, that can't happen tomorrow.

Lots of playing time for the backups. I mentioned yesterday that Keith Marshall is expected to get lots of playing time tomorrow. That's a gift for this Georgia team. If he can get back to his old self, that's just another playmaker for this Bulldogs team who is already loaded in the backfield. Everyone in the secondary should also get the chance to play. Georgia needs to analyze who can play in game situations, and tomorrow is the perfect time to do so. Also, the backup quarterbacks should see lots of reps as well. Just in case Hutson Mason goes down with an injury, these guys need to be ready.
