2017 wide receiver announces decommitment from Georgia

Xavier Jenkins will reportedly take a visit to Miami and Mark Richt this weekend.

After a huge recruiting weekend for Georgia, one that resulted in them surpassing Alabama in the recruiting rankings for the 2017 class, they managed to lose a prospect. On Thursday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that three-star wide receiver Xavier Jenkins (6-foot-3, 195 pounds, Valdosta, Ga.) decommitted from Kirby Smart's 2017 class.

"He just wanted to open it up and kind of take his time and make sure that he made the right decision," said Terry Quinn who coaches Jenkins in the long jump and sprints as the head track coach. "When he committed, the only place he had ever been was Louisville besides Georgia," Quinn said via the Athens Banner-Herald.

The wideout verbally committed to Georgia in February. According to InsideTheU, Jenkins is will visit Miami and former Georgia coach Mark Richt this weekend for a Hurricanes camp.
