High schooler comes to Dre Kirkpatrick's rescue at Bengals practice

As most NFL teams do during spring training, recently the Cincinnati Bengals took their practice on the road to a local high school. The Bengals practiced at West Carrollton High School near Dayton, Ohio, on Sunday afternoon and when former Tide standout Dre Kirkpatrick left the bus headed for the field he made a startling discovery, he didn't have any cleats.

Kirkpatrick saw his coach, Marvin Lewis, talking to some of the high schoolers and he rushed over to seek out some help. West Carrollton senior wide receiver/linebacker Bryan Jones came through for Kirkpatrick with a pair of shoes close enough in fit for the corner.

"I was looking around and saw that Coach (Marvin Lewis) was addressing some of the (high school) team," Kirkpatrick said. "I just went over and I asked him if anybody had a pair. It was just a blessing that he was there, and he had his cleats," Kirkpatrick said. "I want to tell him I appreciate him, and I thank him."

Kirkpatrick autographed the cleats for Jones and said he plans on sending the young man a new pair of cleats so he doesn't have to play in the signed ones. It's safe to say that the Bengals corner taught all of those high school players a valuable lesson that day as well.
