Jim McElwain says Florida 'without' two major offensive weapons for spring ball

The second-year head coach did not issue a timetable for returns.

This doesn't sound very good. Florida football head coach Jim McElwain met with the media on Tuesday afternoon and stated that the Gators will be without two major offensive weapons for spring ball. McElwain said that quarterback Treon Harris, who has reported to be have been moved to wide receiver, and rising sophomore wideout Antonio Callaway, will not participate in spring football, and the two haven't been with the team since January. According to Edgar Thompson of the Orlando Sentinel, McElwain did not give any specifics as to a return date or whether or not the two are suspended.

Callaway led the team in receptions during the 2015 season as a true freshman, with 38 receptions for 678 yards and an average of 19 yards per reception. Losing both him and Harris, if Harris is in fact now a wideout, will greatly hurt the depth at receiver for the Gators this spring.
