It looks like an Alabama offer wasn't enough to keep this recruit in-state.
Three-star defensive end Justin Thomas (6-foot-5, 255 pounds, Spanish Fort, AL) is a recruit that a lot of scouts see potential in thanks to his physical frame. He may just be a three-star, but there's a reason he has offers from schools like Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, and South Carolina.
And, of course, LSU, which is where Thomas committed to on Saturday according to AL.com.
Thomas is the stepson of former Alabama offensive lineman Atlas Herrion.

"LSU fits Justin," said Herrion, who is now an assistant at Thomas's high school. "The style of defense they play is really perfect for him. It's close to the style we play at Spanish Fort. It's a 3-4 scheme and they attack."
According to AL.com, Thomas really started to rise as a recruit last year, recording 11 sacks and helping lead his team to a state championship. Don't be surprised if Thomas continues to excel, as he could easily gain a four-star rating by the time his senior season is over.
LSU now has 20 commitments for their 2017 class.
