The college football coaching carousel was a wild one this season, with plenty of top jobs opening and a handful of surprising candidates landing new gigs.
For Bleacher Report's Brian Pedersen, it wasn't the Willie Taggart hiring at Oregon, Charlie Strong at USF or Tom Herman at Texas that topped his list — it was Ed Orgeron at LSU.
Pedersen points out Orgeron's finish at 5-2, his ability to recruit (and keep recruits) and the coach's ability to surround himself with top assistants offensive coordinator Matt Canada and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.
Orgeron will have his work cut out at LSU, but the athletic department seems to have faith in the LSU coach's ability to get the Tigers back on track toward a national championship.
