Earlier Tuesday, Phidarian Mathis, the four-star defensive tackle out of Monroe, La. spurned his hometown LSU Tigers and signed with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Now, we know why. He wasn't happy with the coaching situation at LSU, and didn't feel like they came after him hard enough.

He told SEC Country, after he made his announcement:
"First off, they lost Les Miles and they got a lot of things going on over there. They got Pete Jenkins over there, the D-line coach, and I never got to talk to him because he's busy. If I'm playing for you, you can call me and I can get your contact number from you."

That's going to burn LSU fans. The 6'4", 287-pound tackle who was the No. 4 overall recruit in the state of Louisiana, would have looked great in a Tigers uniform.
Instead, he's headed to an SEC rival.
