It's never too early in the recruiting process to name a leader.
Five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. (6-foot-2, 181 pounds, Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was one of the few class of 2018 recruits at last week's The Opening, so he has a little more time to make a decision compared to his peers at the event. However, that didn't stop him from naming a leader to SEC Country.
You know, I loved LSU since I was a kid," Surtain said. "My family lives up there, so that makes them (at) the top of my list."
Surtain later mentioned that he's also a big fan of Florida State, but that he considers the Tigers on top for now.

Surtain is the No. 7 overall recruit for the 2018 class, and ranked the No. 1 cornerback by the 247Sports Composite. He's on the record with a 4.57 40-yard dash time from The Opening.
