LSU is really struggling in the early going of the Ed Orgeron era and Saturday did not go well in Baton Rouge. After falling (by 30 points) and squeaking past Syracuse, the Tigers fell to Troy as a three-touchdown favorite at home and, frankly, it was something of an embarrassing performance from a program of LSU's stature.

To make matters worse, the visiting Trojans came in on Homecoming for the upset victory and left their mark on social media.
Beyond that, Steve Berkowitz of USA Today brings word that LSU paid Troy $985,000 for the honor of coming into Tiger Stadium and giving the home team a defeat in front of the entire college football world. Since then, there has been plenty of finger-pointing but the plain feeling of embarrassment for falling to an undermanned team in this fashion should certainly stick with LSU for the foreseeable future.
There is plenty of time for the Tigers, under Orgeron's leadership and with plenty of talent available on the roster, to correct things but the most recent performance stung in a variety of ways. Troy taking a victory lap (and a near-million dollar paycheck) simply pours salt in what appears to be a very open wound.
