Joe Burrow Once Fought an LSU Star at Practice

It's no secret that football is an emotional game—it can get testy with adrenaline flowing and emotions at an all-time high, and we were let in on that more as now-Baltimore Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen recounted a fight he had with now-Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in college at LSU.

Appearing on the Punch Line Podcast, the hosts asked Queen, "Is it true you fought Joe Burrow in practice?"

"Yeah, I definitely did," Queen responded.

The other host of the podcast asked him "who won?" to which Queen said, "Who you think won?"

The host who asked the question replied back saying, "I'm not sure, I hear Joe got all of Louisiana behind him somehow."

"Coach O actually went on ESPN and lied and said Joe won. One thing led to another and next thing you know, we're on the sideline, I got him in a headlock, he's punching my ribs," Queen recounted as the clip ended.

Queen played for LSU from 2017 to 2019, while Burrow played there from 2018 to 2019. The two won a national championship together and were first-round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

This isn't the first time Queen has recounted the incident.

"We was at spring practice, one of the hottest practices ever," Queen said. "JaCoby (Stevens) blitzes and hits Joe, they get up wrestling and stuff. Coach O stops them and is like 'hey, don't hit Joe'. So Joe (is) over there sitting, talking trash and I'm over there like 'OK, cool'. So the next play comes, I hit Joe. Boom. On purpose.

"Coach O is like 'don't hit Joe, I'm not gonna say it no more.' So we're like OK, we get back in the huddle, 'we're hitting Joe again.' So Joe rolls out on a pass, throws the pass, it's complete, I push him. Start talking trash, start jumping in his face doing like a cowboy dance in his face and stuff. All I see is him reach back and boom, punches me, with the face mask on and everything. I looked back and said, 'Joe really just hit me.' Next thing you know we were all wrestling, we're on the ground fighting. I got Joe in a headlock and he's sitting there punching me in the stomach."

Now, Queen will have a chance to get after Burrow in Week 11 as the Ravens and Bengals kick off the week on Thursday Night Football.
