LSU guard to undergo hip surgery

That could hurt the Tigers in the preseason.

LSU will be without the services of starting guard Will Clapp for the rest of the summer due to a hip injury. The rising redshirt sophomore will undergo a hip surgery and could also get a sports hernia taken care of in the same procedure. Clapp has been battling a sports hernia for a few weeks now.

Clapp is expected to be fully recovered from the surgery by the time summer camp gets going in August. Last season as a redshirt freshman, Clapp started 11 games at guard, 10 on the right side and one on the left.  The coaches named him to the All-SEC Freshman Team following the 2015 season.
