According to LSU's official athletics website, Les Miles has hired Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Aranda to coach the same position at LSU.
"This is a great hire for us," Miles said in a statment. "Dave has an outstanding track record of producing some of the best defenses in college football."
Aranda has been the defensive coordinator at Wisconsin for three seasons, and the LSU website touts the Badgers' top defenses over the past few seasons as proof of Aranda's talent. One of those stats is that Wisconsin has allowed the least yards per game of any school (289.4) in Aranda's tenure with Wisconsin.
Aranda will be filling the void left by Kevin Steele, who was hired to be Auburn's defensive coordinator earlier this week.
