LSU kicker injured in crash that killed Michigan State and Nebraska punters

The fatal accident involved a prominent LSU kicker.

This story continues to get more tragically bizarre. The car crash in Wisconsin that killed Michigan State punter Mike Sadler and Nebraska punter Sam Foltz. According to The AdvocateLSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye was also in the car during the crash, and he was sent to was hospital following the crash for undisclosed injuries.

The players were attending a kicking camp in Wisconsin over the weekend. Below is an excerpt from The Advocate's report.

Details on Delahoussaye's injuries were not known. Delahoussaye was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, the release said. Delahoussaye was riding in the back seat of the vehicle, a source told The Advocate.

Foltz was a passenger in a car travelling westbound on Beaver Lake Road at 11:30 p.m. The car lost control on wet pavement, left the roadway and struck a tree. Speed appears to be a factor in the traffic crash, the release said.

The driver of the car was Sadler. He and Foltz were pronounced dead at the scene.

Delahoussaye was released from the hospital, according to The Advocate.

Delahoussaye is expected to retake the starting placekicker job with the Tigers after the departure of Trent Domingue. Domingue announced over the summer he was transferring because his scholarship was not renewed. He announced on Sunday that he would be joining Texas.
