LSU pulls off recruiting upset with four-star forward

Gotta get the in-state guys!

Once top-15 player Mitchell Robinson surprisingly committed to Western Kentucky over some real basketball powers, everyone thought Galen Alexander would follow him. The two were believed to basically be a package deal, but Alexander turned that on its head with his commitment to stay in-state in Louisiana.

Alexander is a four-star forward out of Breaux Bridge, La. and is the No. 2 recruit in the state according to 247Sports. He just gave the hometown Tigers a huge coup over Western Kentucky of all schools and landed their first commitment of the 2017 class.

Alexander is a bouncy 6'6", 215-pound forward who's ranked as the No. 14 small forward and No. 62 recruit overall in the class.He also had offers from Alabama, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma State and N.C. State among others.
