Former All-American, LSU starter suspended ahead of season-opener

He started 11 games last season.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron announced Maea Teuhema has been suspended from the Tigers football team as of Wednesday morning.

"Offensive lineman Maea Teuhema has been indefinitely suspended from the LSU football team for violation of team rules, head coach Ed Orgeron announced on Wednesday morning."

Teuhema was a five-star prospect out of high school by Rivals, started 11 games as a true freshman (playing in all 12) and was an All-American. He helped Leonard Fournette to a single-season school rushing record of 1,953 yards.

He had appeared in 24 games and had 21 starts between three positions (right tackle, right guard and left guard) over his tenure at LSU.
