Four-star DL McKinnley Jackson decommits from SEC power

Wow.

Four-star sophomore defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson announced his decommitment from LSU on Thursday via Twitter.

Jackson said he decided to reopen his recruitment after having a conversation with head coach Ed Orgeron.

Jackson, a Mississippi native, committed to the Tigers in November. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound lineman has offers from nine teams including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and Tennessee.

Jackson was LSU's only commitment for the 2020 national recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports. The sophomore ranks as the No. 3 defensive tackle, No. 1 player from the state of Mississippi and the No. 35 overall prospect, according to the website's early rankings for the 2020 class.
