Four-star QB shuts down commitment, makes firm decision with his future now clear

That's a huge relief.

Four-star quarterback Myles Brennan has decided (at least for now) that LSU will be where he plays college ball.

Brennan was a bit unclear about his future when head coach Ed Orgeron was announced as the team's head coach. But the hiring of Matt Canada, an offensive coordinator known for his creativity and flexibility with what he's given, apparently made Brennan comfortable enough to shut down his commitment.

Taking part in the Elite 11 Finals, Brennan was the focal point of ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer, per SDS, thanks to his comparing favorably to top draft pick Jared Goff.

"I thought he had a great weekend," Dilfer said per 247Sports' Shea Dixon. "I didn't know much about Myles outside of his highlight film because I wasn't at his (New Orleans) regional. He's a super impressive kid. We always try to do these comparisons now because we have kind of a large sample size of guys playing college football and in the NFL. He has Goff-like qualities. The look is kind of similar and the frame is kind of similar, but he's got more twitch than Jared."

Brennan previously committed to LSU in April. He's the No. 6 pro-style quarterback in the class and the No. 4 player in Mississippi.
