NCAA's decision forces LSU tight end's hand, declares for Draft

That's some poorly timed news.

LSU thought it might have its biggest tight end back for a fifth season, but the NCAA is apparently not having any of that. Dillon Gordon had applied for a fifth year of eligibility, but was just recently denied by the NCAA so now he has to declare for the NFL Draft.

He started the first two games of the 2015 season before going down with an Achilles injury. He came back to start the Oct. 17 game against Florida, but he hurt the Achilles again and was sidelined for the rest of the year.

Gordon was used mostly as a blocking tight end and he was pretty good considering he stands 6'5" and weighs about 310 pounds. He put out a message on Twitter thanking the coaches and university.

It's too bad the NCAA came out with this decision so late because that really screwed Gordon out of playing another year and making himself a better player. Instead, he now has to go to the Draft not nearly as prepared as he should be.
