Nation's No. 1 long snapper commits to title contender

It's the most underrated position on the field.

It's not often people get excited about recruiting specialists like punters, kickers and the guys who make those players look good. However, that is the case for LSU as the Tigers landed 2019's best long snapper in Quentin Skinner.

He's rated as the top long snapper by Rubio Long Snapping, which holds a camp each year for the top prospects at the position. Skinner has earned MVP honors for his age group in every year he's participated and it looks like his streak is looking into the 2019 recruiting cycle.

The 6'0", 250-pound snapper is right out of Buford, Ga. and would be the third consecutive long snapper from there to play for LSU after Reid and Blake Ferguson. Blake is a sophomore this season so there would be one year of overlap between him and Skinner and that would likely mean a redshirt year for Skinner as a freshman so he could play all four years of his eligibility.
