LSU was in real trouble of losing out on some high-level recruits in its own state after demoting longtime high school coach Jabbar Juluke who joined the staff last season. Juluke was named the running backs coach after coaching in New Orleans from 1995-2012 before joining Louisiana Tech's staff before heading to the flagship program in the state.

New Orleans coaches were reportedly threatening to call for a boycott of LSU at a Thursday meeting. Two Louisiana recruits, 4-star QB Justin Rogers and 5-star WR Terrace Marshall Jr. tweeted about attending college outside the state. However, it looks like Ed Orgeron and his staff have stopped some of the bleeding with a meeting they held with coaches on Friday.
"There will be no boycott of LSU in any fashion," Edna Karr head coach Brice Brown told The Advocate Friday. "We just got done with a meeting with Coach Orgeron. We just want more communication with LSU. This meeting just solidified that."
It probably didn't hurt that LSU also hired Louisiana Tech's Mickey Joseph as the wide receivers coach. He also has strong ties to the New Orleans area as he coached at several schools in the area from 2005-12. He's also coached at Grambling State and Alcorn State before he made his way to Tech.
