LSU lands verbal commit from three-star defensive end

The New Orleans, La. prospect had several big-time offers.

LSU picked up a nice verbal commit on Monday afternoon that will give the Tigers some depth on the defensive line. Three-star defensive end Sci Martin (6-foot-4, 240 pounds, New Orleans, La.) verbally committed to LSU during an announcement ceremony at his high school, McDonogh 35.

Martin was choosing between LSU, TCU and Arizona State. Martin is the No. 34 ranked weakside defensive end in the 2016 class. During Martin's senior season, he broke the longstanding McDonogh 35 sack record with 33.5 according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
