Les Miles is officially out at LSU and the Tigers have promoted defensive line coach Ed Orgeron to interim head coach for now. The Tigers went 9-3 last year with a Heisman contender in running back Leonard Fournette, and that was considered a disappointment by the fans and the athletic department. While athletic director Joe Alleva isn't exactly looking for a new coach now, there's definitely some guys he will be keeping an eye on this year.

A name that came up last year when Miles was on the verge of getting fired was Florida State's Jimbo Fisher and he could be the man they go after again this offseason. Fisher was at LSU with both Nick Saban and Miles from 2000 to 2006 as the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. He stayed on with Miles' staff after Saban jumped to the NFL and has coached quarterbacks like JaMarcus Russell, Patrick Nix (at Cincinnati), Josh Booty, Matt Mauck and Rohan Davey.

Fisher has also obviously had Jameis Winston, E.J. Manuel and Christian Ponder go in the NFL Draft under his watch so he knows a thing or two about developing quarterbacks. That's a big concern for LSU fans as they have not had a reliable quarterback since Zach Mettenberger went pro and Matt Flynn (2008) before that. It's unlikely Fisher would leave FSU unless LSU pays his potential $5 million buyout and matches FSU's salary of over $5 million a year.
