Never forget: Texas A&M's 'Red, White and Blue' out

Most-if not all-of us can remember the exact thing we were doing 14 years ago, on this date Sept. 11, 2001. After those horrific and cowardly acts by those involved, America banded together in a myriad of ways, but nothing brings us together quite like sports. Though the Aggies played a football game against Oklahoma State that weekend, there were far more important things happening on the field than the contest.

The solidarity displayed between both team, and really in all stadiums and ball parks across America spoke to the true nature of what it meant to be American. Texas A&M's "red, white and blue" out gesture was perfect for the occasion and the students who proposed the idea are what true Aggie fans are all about. Having a stadium filled with students and fans wearing our nation's colors will forever go down as one of the great moments in sports, especially at a time when we lost so many.
