James Larsen with PFN reported the signing via X.

Selected No. 94 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, he was with Carolina for that season, then spent time with the New England Patriots in 2023.

During the 2022-23 preseason, Corral suffered a Lisfranc injury and was placed on injured reserve. He missed all of his rookie season. The team waived him on Aug. 30, 2023, and the Patriots claimed him a day later.

However, his time in New England was short. He was placed on the exempt/left squad list by the team about 10 days later after leaving the facility without notice and failing to report. He was released in September 2023 but signed with the practice squad, and then it was reported just a day later that he wouldn't be signing with the practice squad.

Needless to say, it was a whirlwind of an NFL stint for the Ole Miss product.

At Ole Miss, Corral started 27 games and went 17-10, completing 67.3% of his passes for 8,281 yards, 57 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. He also racked up 1,338 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.

Fans on X reacted to the news with varying insights.

"Dude has NFL Starter ability with arm talent you can't teach. I expect him to perform very well in the UFL and quickly return to the NFL," one user wrote.

"Wow, that's a get. I was hoping the Falcons would make a run at him last season. Dude isn't signing to be a backup," someone else said.

"He quit on the patriots. Walked away when he got an opportunity. Great get," someone else mentioned.

"Matt Corral is about to make UFL defenses look like they're a Group of Five program," another person wrote.

"Gotta think his career could've been drastically different if it weren't for an injury in a pointless bowl game. Damn shame," another person wrote.

Now, we'll wait to see how Corral performs with his new team in a new league.
