Paul Finebaum talks Lane Kiffin's chances of landing at Ole Miss

What are the chances?

Who will end up at Ole Miss after the resignation of Hugh Freeze? No one is quite sure yet, but ESPN's Paul Finebaum is pretty sure that it won't be former Alabama offensive coordinator and current Florida Atlantic head coach Lane Kiffin.

Here's what Finebaum had to say on Sportscenter. (via SEC Country)

"He is young, he is offensive-minded and he comes with a lot of controversy," Finebaum said. "It might be worth remembering his brother (Chris Kiffin) was on this staff and is no longer on that staff. He was part of this NCAA case. That could be used against Kiffin.

"I would bet against Lane for this particular job. I think he would really help a program, but I think Ole Miss has dealt with too much controversy. And I think Lane Kiffin just brings the circus with him wherever he goes."

Considering that Ole Miss could face NCAA sanctions on top of Freeze's resignation, it will prove to be a bit of a rebuild job for whichever coach permanently takes over. Considering Kiffin's controversial past at both USC and Tennessee as their head coach, it makes sense for Kiffin to lay low and rebuild his own image before he tries to take on another big job.
