Paul Finebaum Goes Off On SEC's Chances at Missing College Football Playoff

ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum has long been affiliated with the SEC, and he showed that pride in the conference when discussing a scenario in which Alabama beats Georgia in the SEC Championship, leaving both schools with one loss and the idea of both being left out of the College Football Playoff.

"Over my dead body," Finebaum said.

"That's not happening, I am not going to allow it Dan [Graziano], I'll stand outside that door in Grapevine, Texas and demand it."

Since the inception of the College Football Playoff, the SEC has had representation each year, and Finebaum wants that streak to continue.

"I'm not saying that because I live and work in the SEC, but what I do know is that the SEC is the best conference," Finebaum said.

Finebaum assessed the Florida State Seminoles, offering them up as a potential team left out of the Playoff due to the injury to starting quarterback Jordan Travis, even if they win the ACC Championship game against the Louisville Cardinals.

"You're going to tell me that Florida State without its best player, which struggled against a seven-loss Florida team Saturday, should be in over Alabama or Georgia?" he asked.

The Crimson Tide beating the Bulldogs would undoubtedly leave plenty of intrigue. Both teams would have one loss, but the Crimson Tide's would be against the Texas Longhorns, who will presumably win the Big 12 Championship game over Oklahoma State.

We'll have to see what happens if the Bulldogs suffer an upset.

Will Finebaum have to head to Grapevine and camp out? Will the SEC College Football Playoff streak come to an end?

The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide square off on Saturday, December 2, at 4:00 pm ET at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
