It sure is a shame that Alabama great Reggie Ragland is out for the year with a knee injury, because it would have been fun to see if Ragland could dish out hits like these on an NFL level.
For throwback Thursday, we take a look back at what might have been the hardest hit delivered by an Alabama player last season. It was early in the second quarter of Alabama's blowout win over Georgia when Tide linebacker Reggie Ragland delivered the hardest hit of the young season from a Tide defender. When the game's outcome was still very much in doubt, UGA quarterback Greyson Lambert looked to hit receiver Malcolm Mitchell over the middle for a first down.
It looked as if Mitchell would bring in the catch until Alabama senior leader Reggie Ragland absolutely destroyed Mitchell as he came across the middle.
That's a Reuben Foster level hit. If Mitchell didn't hear footsteps before the play, it's a safe bet he heard them after.
