George Wynn is leaving one SEC school for another, as he becomes the new head of football operations for the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Wynn replaces Robbie Liles.

“Robbie Liles is a great Gamecock having been part of the football program for 17 years,” Muschamp said. “He helped make my transition seamless and I appreciate all that he has done. We will certainly miss Robbie and [his wife] Lauren, and wish them all the best as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

“I’m excited to be able to fill his position by adding George Wynn to our staff,” Muschamp said in a statement. “Having worked with George previously, I know he will be a tremendous asset for our program moving forward.”

Liles, who the release said is pursuing other opportunities, was with South Carolina for nearly 17 years.

Wynn worked as assistant athletics director of football operations at Texas from 2005-2011. Most recently, he served as the assistant athletics director for football operations at Florida from 2011-2017. Obviously, that is where his connection to Muschamp rests.

A three-year starter for the Georgia Bulldogs, Wynn also spent two seasons in the Canadian Football League with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
