In an interview with 247sports, Vann opened up about what's changed for him in the recruiting process, even mentioning five-star quarterback Justin Fields and his strong interest in the Georgia Bulldogs, and why the Gamecocks are no longer the sole leader.
Via 247sports:
"I know I have said before that South Carolina led, but honestly, that is no longer the case," Vann said. "I would just say they are tied. I cannot really name a leader anymore.
"I am thinking I will decide maybe the second week into the season."
It's interesting that the Georgia Bulldogs have climbed into the co-No.1 spot for Vann, even though he is a hometown recruit. From his comments, the prospect of cultivating a super class of commitments at Georgia is appealing to Vann.
Still, his comments about South Carolina seem to indicate that he's still very high on the program and that he still very well may end up committing to the Gamecocks in the end.
Vann is the No.39 WR in the class of 2018.
