SEC East rival steals recruit out of Georgia territory

South Carolina is smack dab in the middle of a rebuild headed by coach Will Muschamp and can use all the talent it can recruit. Spurrier did not quite leave the program in good standing so any kind of recruiting coup is a good one. That’s exactly what the Gamecocks got in safety Zay Brown.

Brown plays for Clarke Central High School in Athens, Ga. right in Bulldog territory. The three-star safety is a 6’0″, 180-pound safety in the class of 2017 and is ranked as the No. 111 safety in the country. He also held offers from Colorado State, Wake Forest and Western Kentucky among others.
