South Carolina players are walking around with a championship belt and now we know why

I would compete for that every week!

You might have noticed some South Carolina players walking around with a WWE-like championship belt. That's despite the fact the only "title" the Gamecocks have is one for the SEC East in 2010. The only conference titles South Carolina owns are from when it played in the Southern Conference (1933) and the ACC (1969).

However, coach Will Muschamp wants his players to feel like champs and he wants them competing every week on the field so he's come up with an incentive for his defense. He's handing out the belt to the undisputed champion of the game every week. The most recent is defensive back Chris Lammons.

Another week means there's a chance for another champ as South Carolina takes on Kentucky in Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
