Another eighth grader just got a college scholarship offer and no surprise, it's from an SEC school

Several schools have caught on to the craze of recruiting that is offering eighth graders scholarships. That's despite the fact that they haven't taken a high school snap and really haven't seen any real high pressure situations. However, some of them just have cannons for arms or are physical freaks of nature and that's all it takes to get an offer sometimes.

Elijah Howard becomes the latest eighth grader to receive an offer from a high major football team and the Tennessee Volunteers actually make him the second eighth grader they've offered under coach Butch Jones. Howard is a 5'11", 165-pound running back, but has plenty of time to bulk up and may even grow a few more inches too.

And it looks like he's used to making explosive plays already as only a 14-year old:

Jones continues to make inroads with younger kids and this one is right in his own backyard of Knoxville, Tennessee. It's incredibly hard to project how kids might be ranked at that age, but 247 Sports' Ryan Callahan is convinced that Howard will be one of the top prospects in the state in his class.
