Butch Jones is not impressed with preseason polls

I guess he doesn't know how much people like his team then.

Tennessee head coach Butch Jones is not a real big fan of polls unless it's the big one at the end of the year. He believes that since this year's team hasn't done anything meaningful on the field yet they don't really deserve a ranking. However, most analysts would disagree with him there as the Vols have been consistently ranked in the top 10 in quite a few polls.

Jones doesn't want any part of those polls and so he stays in the dark on that front.

"They keep that away from me," Jones said, per the Times Free Press. "With rankings it's not where you start; it's where you end. These rankings are really the benefit of last year's football team, Team 119, and the way we finished strong with six consecutive wins and a great performance in the Outback Bowl. This football team, Team 120, has not accomplished one thing.

"We've not taken one snap, but I do like what I see so far."

I think the fans are going to like the way this team looks too once the season gets going. Quarterback Josh Dobbs should be much improved and running backs Alvin Kamara and Jalen Hurd are looking like they'll tear up SEC defenses.
