Butch Jones thinks he has the 'best running back in the country'

The Tennessee coach is incredibly confident in his running back.

There are tons of coaches who feel confident in their running back situation, but there are few who can actually say that they might have the best one in the country. Most of the people who could say that are in the SEC like LSU's Les Miles (about Leonard Fournette) or UGA's Kirby Smart (about Nick Chubb).

Add Tennessee football coach Butch Jones to that list of confidence coaches as he was absolutely gushing over Jalen Hurd. Jones thinks there's nothing Hurd can't do and let everyone know about it.

"Jalen Hurd is a three-down running back," Jones said, as reported by ESPN Nashville's Zach Bingham. "He can get the tough yards, he can be elusive, he can pass protect, he can catch the football out of the backfield. He's a weapon. He's very determined and when you throw his size and stature in, I think he's the best back in the country."

Hurd is coming off of an exceptional sophomore season, during which he rushed for 1,288 yards and 12 touchdowns. However, Fournette and Chubb might still be the better backs in the conference. Fournette had almost 2,000 rushing yards and had 22 touchdowns last season.
