Curt Maggitt did not see much time at all for the Tennessee Volunteers in the 2015 season after he injured his hip in the second game of the year. He had 11 sacks in 2014 and redshirted in 2013 because of a torn ACL. Maggitt definitely had a case to petition the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility, but it seems he is not interested in doing so.
Tennessee athletic department spokesman Ryan Robinson confirmed Maggitt has decided not to petition for a sixth season. Maggitt released this instagram post to thank everyone for their support during his time on Rocky Top.
Tennessee is sure going to miss this guy, but hopefully he can make it at the next level and impress some teams in his workouts.
