Four-star DE Brandon Smith says one recent visit to recruiting power 'really blew me away'

He sounds pretty impressed.

Four-star weak side defensive Brandon Smith is one of the gems in the 2019 class as he's rated as a four-star recruit and seems to be pretty wide open in where he'll go to college. The Virginia native demonstrated that by recently taking a visit to Tennessee for its "Orange Carpet Day." He also seemed to enjoy it quite a bit as he described it to 247Sports.

"It was overall a good visit. I didn't really know what to expect coming into the visit. But what all I saw really blew me away," said Smith.

He also said he was impressed by the coaches and the campus while he was there. The 6'3", 210-pound defensive is listed at that position by 247Sports, but he lists himself as a middle linebacker and tight end hybrid. Either way, 247Sports' own rankings have him ranked as the No. 9 weak side DE in the class of 2019 and the No. 3 recruit in the state of Virginia.

Smith also has offers from Ohio State, Florida State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Georgia and Louisville as well as others.

Here are some of his highlights:
