Alabama had been the heavy favorite, taking up the vast majority of the predictions on the 247Sports Crystal Ball. To make things even more shocking, Tennessee had no predictions at all for Dean before he made his decision.
Dean was the second commit for Tennessee on the day, joining three-star Matthew Flint.
Tennessee now has 20 commits for their 2018 class, which ranks sixth in the nation over at 247Sports.
