Former SEC coach hammers Tennessee after sloppy start against UMass

Some harsh criticism for Tennessee after a sloppy first half in Saturday's game against UMass.

Former Auburn coach and current SEC Network analyst Gene Chizik had some harsh criticism for Tennessee after a sloppy first half in Saturday's game against UMass.

"The coaches can't be more excited to play than the players," Chizik said. "This is a locker room issue. They need to step up. Anybody that is any facsimile of a leader on this football team needs to have a voice in the locker room right now because this is not just a coach problem, this is a player problem. They're not interested, they're not focused and it looks like it."

The Vols held a 14-6 lead at halftime thanks to several penalties, including an unsportsmanlike conduct call on head coach Butch Jones, which led to a UMass touchdown on a quarterback keeper.
