Tennessee has a chance to be a great team this year with Josh Dobbs and Jalen Hurd returning to lead the offense. Hurd rushed for 1,288 yards this year and if he rushes for only about three-fourths of that in his junior campaign he will be Tennessee's all-time rushing leader. He likely won't pass anyone in his first game —- even if it is against Appalachian State —- but could very well pass the last four guys on the list against Virginia Tech in the Battle at Bristol in Week 2.

It will probably take him a couple more games to get to the group of guys in the 2,600 range like Jay Graham, Cedric Houston and Jamal Lewis. Those guys could be moving down the list as soon as the Florida game in Week 4 or the Georgia the next week.
If Hurd averages 100 yards per game on the ground —- reasonable to think considering that would only be a single yard bump up from last season —- he should have the record by the time the Vols play Tennessee Tech in November. That would mean he would have rushed for more yards than guys like Arian Foster, Travis Henry, Johnnie Jones and James Stewart. Yeah, that's pretty impressive.
